Visiting Galway City and the rugged coastline of Connemara
An enchanting day tour visiting the wild West of Ireland where ‘The Quite Man’ (John Ford) was filmed. Arriving through Galway, the City of the Tribes, you will be treated to unrivalled scenery of Connemara including its capital, Clifden.  Connemara (meaning Inlets of the Sea) is home to Kylemore Abbey surrounded by stunning beauty and tranquility.

Itinerary:
Visit 1:  Galway & Connemara
  • On arrival to Galway transfer to a waiting coach to tour the Connemara region, a region enhanced by spectacular scenery.
  • Experience the lovely country village of Leenane, at the head of Killary harbour, Ireland's only ford.  With steep mountains rising on either side has often been described as the best scenery in Ireland.

Visit 2: Kylemore Abbey
  • Stop for lunch in the magnificent setting of Kylemore Abbey.  It is the oldest Benedictine abbey in Ireland and is located on an isolated yet dramatic mountainside.

Visit 3:  Clifden
  • After lunch travel to Clifden, the capital of Connemara, to see the dominating Twelve Bens Mountain range.  There are plenty of shopping & photo opportunities en route.
  • Continue along the shores of Galway Bay back to the train station.
  • Return to Dublin by train.  Light meals and full bar available.
  • All admissions included in fare.
